Designed to give the First Aider the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness and maintain care and comfort of the casualty. With an emphasis on dealing with life threatening situations and keeping the casualty alive until professional help arrives. Delegates will learn a high level of practical skills and theoretical knowledge, so that they can deal with a wide range of situations that may arise in the work environment.

The role and responsibilities of the first aider, Incident and casualty assessment, unresponsive casualties (including seizure), Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Choking, Wounds and bleeding, Shock, Minor injuries, Injuries to bones and joints, sprains and strains, Head injuries and spinal injuries, Chest injuries, Burns and scalds, Eye injuries, Poisons, Anaphylaxis, Heart attack and angina, Stroke, Epilepsy, Asthma, Diabetes.
Examinations
All Delegates will undertake a formal assessment on completion of the course. First Aid at work certificates are valid for three years.
