ECITB CCNSG National Safety Passport (2 day course)
The ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport is the nationally recognised safety card across the UK engineering construction industry and is therefore a necessity for any engineers or contractors who need to gain access to ECITB controlled sites. As an approved ECITB learning provider, we are able to offer the two-day ECITB CCNSG National Safety Passport course necessary to achieve this card. Once this has been issued, the card is valid for three years before it needs to be renewed.
ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport Renewal
The ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport can be renewed up to six months before the expiry date. The three-year extension is added on to the remaining time. Lapsed candidates must re-sit the 2-day National course.
There are two ways to renew your Safety Passport, and we offer both:
✓ ECITB CCNSG One-Day Refresher: This one-day course offers a thorough review of the syllabus, revisiting key concepts and best practices, with two paper-based tests. This option is ideal for those seeking a comprehensive refresh of their knowledge.
✓ ECITB CCNSG Renewal – Test with Revision: After a thorough review of the course syllabus with an approved CCNSG Tutor (hence “with revision”), candidates will sit a computer based test. This session lasts approximately 3 hours, so it can be completed in less than half a day. (Note: Candidates must be confident in reading, writing and use of a computer.)
ECITB CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS)
CCNSG Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) is a one-day course aimed to provide an essential introduction to managing small teams within the context of health and safety in the engineering construction industry. Candidates who wish to sit this course must hold a current CCNSG National Safety passport with at least 3 months remaining before expiry. The LaTS card does not expire, and as such, there is no need to renew.
IOSH is the chartered body for health and safety professionals. We are an approved training centre with IOSH, giving our experienced tutors the ability to offer IOSH training courses at our facility in Hull, as well as business premises across the UK. All courses provide jargon-free comprehensive and practical information, with step-by-step guidance backed up by case studies, scenarios from real-world situations, and interactive games and quizzes. All candidates who complete their course will receive an internationally recognised IOSH training certificate.
IOSH Managing Safely®
Suitable for any manager or supervisor, in any sector, this three-day course is designed to give candidates the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they are responsible for.
Over the three days candidates will learn about assessing and controlling risks, understanding hazards, their responsibilities in the workplace, investigating incidents and measuring performance.
Successful candidates are awarded an IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
IOSH Working Safely®
This one-day course is aimed at front-line staff, at any level and in any sector and is designed to help raise health and safety awareness and improve the safety culture of an organisation.
There are four compulsory modules to this course including outlining occupational safety and health, defining hazard and risk, identifying common hazards, and improving safety performance.
Successful candidates are awarded an IOSH Working Safely Certificate.
We offer two options for training for the CSCS card:
CSCS Card Full Application Package
As well as achieving the Level 1 in Health and Safety, candidates will also be able to sit the CSCS touch screen test on the same day, and we will then apply for their card.
Level 1 Health and Safety
A one-day Level 1 in Health and Safety course, which will then allow candidates to apply for their CSCS card. (Note: Candidates will need to arrange their own touch screen test and apply for the CSCS card themselves.)
This in-house course is designed around the principal UK safety legislation relevant for confined space entry work. We offer two options for CSE training:
✓ Entry into Confined Spaces (Awareness): A ½ day classroom-based course covering theory and awareness (Module 1 only)
✓ Entry into Confined Spaces (Escape Set and Winch): A ¾ day course which covers awarness theory in classroom, followed by a practical session in our confined space simulator involving entry and exit, use of winch and an emergency escape set. (Modules 1 & 2)
Module 1 (Theory)
✓ Legislative requirements – Including the requirement under the Confined Spaces Regulations to find a reasonably practicable method of carrying out the work.
✓ Identifying the requirements for atmospheric monitoring – advantages, disadvantages and limitations of gas monitoring equipment.
✓ Understanding of the term % LEL & % UEL, equating this to quantities of known flammable gases in the atmosphere.
✓ Requirements and methods for carrying out successful ventilation.
✓ Safe evacuation of the confined space.
✓ Safe systems of work. – The relationship between risk assessments, method statements, permits to work and rescue plans.
Module 2 (Practical)
✓ Selection & inspection of emergency escape sets
✓ Fit testing the escape set (in the classroom)
✓ Use of the escape set (in the confined space simulator)
Also available at prior request – qualitative face fit testing if you bring your own mask
This course is designed for those who are responsible for overseeing fire safety at their organisation, or any designated fire marshals. During this ½ day course, candidates will gain an understanding of fire regulations, precautions, detection and firefighting equipment. Successful candidates will be issued with a SHE Knows Fire Marshal training certificate.
This course is also available with the option of adding Fire Extinguisher training

This course is designed around the Working at Height Regulations and aims to deliver an understanding of how to undertake a working at height risk assessment, select and use access equipment safely, and understand inspection requirements. This course also instructs a user to select, inspect and use a harness and associated equipment safely when using a MEWP or when working at height, covering the current legal obligations regarding the use of fall protection equipment, causes and resultant effects of a fall, standards and how they affect the equipment selection, storage, care, maintenance and rescue implications associated with some uses of safety harnesses. The program is suitable for any operative required to work off ladders, scaffolds, podiums or MEWPs.
Successful candidates will be issued with a SHE Knows training certificate.
A further half day course for harness use is available, which supports the learning in this course.

This ½ day course is designed to meet the HSE legal obligations of the HSG17 Safety in the Use of Abrasive Wheels publication. Delivered by a tutor with over 40 years experience in using abrasive wheels in the industrial workshops, this training is often given to groups at the client’s premises, where it is easier to discuss the equipment during the practical element of the course.

Our Face Fit Train the Trainer course provides the candidate with the skills to conduct face fit testing using the Qualitative method. This course is a necessity for any organisation where respiratory protective equipment (REP) is provided to employees.
(Please note: Face fit courses referred to as “Train the Trainer” are to provide training that allows delegates to conduct Qualitative face fit testing, it does not provide the training to enable them to teach the subject themselves.)

This Manual Handling Awareness course provides the information required to understand the risks of manual handling in the workplace and reduce the risks to employees to as low as reasonably practicable. The course can be tailored to focus on business and task-specific manual handling situations and problems specific to your company and procedures.
Successful candidates will be issued with a SHE Knows training certificate.

The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations places a duty of care on landlords and property managers to ensure that contact with any asbestos-containing material is restricted to trained, competent people. Asbestos can be found in a variety of materials, from its most friable form in insulation to relatively low-risk compounds such as resins. This half-day course informs employees on how to identify asbestos-containing materials and what to do if it is found. It is particularly relevant for workers whose daily activities can bring them into contact with asbestos-containing materials, and a potential fibre release, such as insulation, artex, and ceiling and floor ties.

The Legionella course provides candidates with an understanding of Legionnaire’s disease, an overview of the legislation, and guidance on compliance with UK legislation (HSG274 parts 1,2 and 3 and also the L8 (ACOP))

This course will outline the main legal requirements and responsibilities of the duty holders under the Construction Design and Management Regulations. Focus will be covered on the requirement of the delegates, who may find themselves in the position of a Duty holder such as a Client, Principal Contractor, Principal Designer or part of the underlying teams – designer, architect or contractor. Instruction will follow the same curriculum as the classroom course, to the same standard of training
This CDM Awareness course can be attended from anywhere in the world.

The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

✓ The priorities of first aid
✓ Treatment of an unconscious casualty
✓ Resuscitation
