SHE Knows also seeks to drive the cost of your career development down. We may be able to do this for you in a variety of ways.

  1. As an ELCAS approved provider for service personnel
  2. As an approved provider under the Career Development Loans Scheme
  3. By tapping into local funding that the Government releases

Assessors are approved/accredited by Oxford Cambridge and RAS Examinations (OCR) who are our awarding body. Staff are either Chartered Members of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or are working towards this status.

NVQs in Health and Safety

Accredited by OCR NVQs are achieved in your workplace, whereby you will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence as listed in our workbook. SHE Knows offers NVQs in Health and Safety at levels 3 and 5 as well as the Competence Awards in Safety.

  1. Competence Awards (Level 2)
  2. Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety
  3. Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice (replaced the level 4)

National Vocational Qualifications are work based and involve no exams

SHE Knows Ltd is the first organisation to issue our candidates with a workbook that provides a route map, taking you through your NVQ step by step. Evidence requirements are specified in a checklist format, and all cross referencing is done for you. The NVQ standards have just been re- launched at the beginning of 2011 and the Level 5 Diploma is fully recognised by the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) as a route to corporate membership. On successful completion of the NVQ portfolio, candidates can initiate their application to IOSH to become a Graduate Member (Grad.IOSH).

NVQ Level 5 - Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice

This Level 5 Diploma has replaced the old NVQ Level 4. The NVQs have become increasingly popular within the safety industry. A salary survey in 2010 identified that NVQ holders earned more than the NEBOSH Diploma holders, proving that competence in the workplace is essential to the job selection process.

The new NVQ 5 is on a par with the NEBOSH Diploma level 6. IOSH holds both qualifications at entrance level for Grad.IOSH membership. Students studying for Level 5 Diploma ideally should have undertaken a Level 3 or 4 H&S qualification (such as the NEBOSH International Certificate, NVQ level 3 in Health and Safety or Certificate in Environmental Health (CIEH) L4 in H&S) and be undertaking a substantial H&S role within the organisation.

The following units need to be undertaken to gain the full NVQ Level 4.

HSP8 Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for H&S
