NVQ’s
Each of our Assessors and Mentors will work with you to find the best approach for your NVQ portfolio compilation. We promise that your involvement with us will be a beneficial one - we may not be the cheapest NVQ provider on the market, but we sincerely think we are the best - with our unique format workbook, friendly assessors and provision of study aids, you’ll find the combination hard to beat!
What’s more we don’t take short cuts, we will come to your workplace to observe you as per the NVQ requirements and we will assist you with your portfolio build on a face to face basis if you get stuck!
SHE Knows also seeks to drive the cost of your career development down, we may be able to do this for you in a variety of ways.

Assessors are approved/accredited by OCR our awarding body and are either Chartered Members of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or are working towards this status.
National Vocational Qualifications in Health and Safety. (N.V.Q.’s)
Accredited by OCR NVQ’s are achieved in your workplace. You will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence listed in our workbook. SHE Knows, offers NVQ’s in Health and Safety at levels 3, 4, 5 and also in the Competence Awards in Safety.

National Vocational Qualifications are work based and involve no exams
SHE Knows Ltd is the first organisation to issue our candidates with a workbook that provides a route map, taking you through your NVQ step by step. Evidence requirements are specified in a checklist format, and all cross referencing is done for you. The new NVQ standards were launched at the beginning of 2009 and the Level 4 qualification is fully recognised by the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) as a route to corporate membership, on successful completion of the NVQ portfolio candidates can initiate their application to IOSH to become a Graduate Member (Grad.IOSH).
Evidence Provision for your NVQ
You will be asked to build a portfolio of evidence to match the NVQ standards. Examples of evidence provision are:
- Photocopies/e-mail copy of documents created at work;
- Risk Assessments undertaken
- Accident Investigation
- Workplace Inspections
- Training Written/Delivered
- Professional Discussions;
- with your assessor or mentor
- recorded by yourself
- Witness testimonies from your Manager/H&S team
- Copies of assignments submitted for other safety qualifications
NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety
The Level 4 NVQ is becoming increasingly popular and holds the same status and respect as the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma and degree courses. Students studying for NVQ Level 4 ideally should have undertaken the NEBOSH (International) General Certificate or NVQ level 3 in Health and Safety and be undertaking a substantial H&S role within the organisation.
The following units need to be undertaken to gain the full NVQ Level 4.

The Level 3 NVQ holds the same status and respect as the NEBOSH (International) General Certificate. Students studying for NVQ Level 3 ideally should have undertaken the IOSH Managing Safely Certificate and be undertaking a supporting H&S role within your organisation.
The following units need to be undertaken to gain the full NVQ Level 3.
NVQ Level 5 in Management of Health and Safety
This qualification is designed for those who have substantial responsibilities for strategic budgets and guiding the work of subordinate managers. As this program is for health and safety managers, competences which are assessed include a person’s application of skills across a significant range of fundamental principles, often across an unpredictable variety of contexts.
Featuring strongly in this qualification is the personal accountability for analysis, diagnosis, design, planning, execution and evaluation of your business. As you will have a substantial personal autonomy and often, significant responsibility for the work of others, with the allocation of substantial resources these elements are also featured strongly. Candidates must undertake a total of eleven units to gain the full qualification.

Mobile plant NVQ
For the NVQ’s in Mobile Plant Operations, SHE Knows assessors are now working in partnership with Porthull to deliver the competence based level 2 NVQ’s in mobile plant as well as other accredited plant training. These NVQ’s can be gained in
